Claims (6)
- 1.弁手段と該弁手段を制御するためのカム機構とを有し、前記カム機構は、該 カム機構に取り付けられそれと共に回転する第1及び第2カム手段と、第1及び 第2カム手段の表面に追従するようにそれぞれ配設された第1及び第2フォロワ 手段を有する第1及び第2フィンガフォロワと、を有するカムシャフトを含み、 第1及び第2フィンガフォロワはカム手段及び弁手段と直接または間接に係合し てフィンガフォロワを保持する支点手段を中心として揺動可能であり、こうして カム手段によって弁手段の制御が可能となる内燃機関において、前記第1カム手 段、第1フォロワ手段及び第1フィンガフォロワは、機関の低速度に対応する第 1短期持続カム機構を有し、前記支点手段は、低速時にはカムフォロワが前記第 1カム手段と係合する低第1位置にあり、前記第2カム手段、第2フォロワ手段 及び第2フィンガフォロワは、機関の高速度に対応する第2の長期持続カム機構 を有し、前記支点手段は、第2カムフォロワが第2カム手段との係合から外れる 前記第1位置と前記第2カムフォロワが前記第2カム手段と係合する第2位置と の間で作用可能であることを特徴とする内燃機関。
- 2.請求項1に記載の内燃機関において、前記第2カム機構に対する前記支点手 段は、ピストンを包囲する室の内圧変動に応答してボア内の二つの位置間で移動 可能なアクチュエータピストンを含む第2カムのための支点手段を含むことを特 徴とする内燃機関。
- 3.請求項2に記載の内燃機関において、嵌合手段が設けられ、前記ピストンの 第1位置または第2位置の何れかにおいて、アクチュエータピストンを解放可能 に嵌合することを特徴とする内燃機関。
- 4.請求項3に記載の内燃機関において、前記嵌合手段は、アクチュエータピス トンの横方向に移動可能でありボア内の凹部と嵌合可能なラッチピストンを含む ことを特徴とする内燃機関。
- 5.請求項1−4の何れかに記載の内燃機関において、一対の隣接する弁が第1 カム機構内に設けられた別々のフィンガフォロワにより駆動可能であり、第2カ ム機構は、動するよう作用可能な単一フィンガフォロワを有することを特徴とす る内燃機関。
- 6.請求項5に記載の内燃機関において、前記第1カム機構の2個のフィンガフ ォロワは互いに近接接続されてそこで前記カムシャフト手段と平行に伸長したリ ンク部材により弁を駆動するよう当該弁と係合し、前記第2フィンガフォロワは 前記2個のフィンガフォロワ間に配置されてリンク部材を駆動することを特徴と する内燃機関。
