50.0mm2/s(100℃)である基油に対し、組成物
全重量に基づき、(B)アルキルジフェニルアミン類及
び/又はフェニル−α−ナフチルアミン類0.05〜2.
0重量%を含有させ、かつ(C)C8〜23のMoDTC
及び/又はC3〜18のMoDTPをMo量として50〜
2000重量ppm含有させた潤滑油組成物。 【効果】高耐熱性、高酸化安定性及び低摩擦性を有し、
特に内燃機関用潤滑油などとして好適に用いられる。
Description
らに詳しくは、高耐熱性、高酸化安定性及び低摩擦性を
有し、内燃機関、自動変速機、緩衝器、パワーステアリ
ングなどの潤滑油、特に内燃機関用潤滑油として好適に
用いられる潤滑油組成物に関するものである。
器、パワーステアリングなどの駆動系機器、ギヤなどに
は、その作動を円滑にするために潤滑油が用いられてい
る。特に内燃機関用潤滑油(エンジン油)は、主として
ピストンリングとシリンダライナ、クランク軸や連接棒
(コネクティングロッド)の軸受、カムとバルブリフタ
を含む動弁機構など、各種摺動部分の潤滑のほか、エン
ジン内の冷却や燃焼生成物の清浄分散、さらには錆や腐
食を防止するなどの作用を果たす。このように、内燃機
関用潤滑油には多様な性能が要求され、しかも近年、内
燃機関の高性能化、高出力化、運転条件の過酷化などに
伴い、高度な性能が要求されてきている。したがって、
該内燃機関用潤滑油には、このような要求性能を満たす
ために、例えば摩耗防止剤、金属清浄剤、無灰分散剤、
酸化防止剤などの種々の添加剤が配合されている。内燃
機関用潤滑油の基本的機能として、特にあらゆる条件下
で機関を円滑に作用させ、摩耗、焼付き防止を行うこと
が重要である。エンジン潤滑部は、大部分が流体潤滑状
態にあるが、動弁系やピストンの上下死点などでは境界
潤滑状態となりやすく、このような境界潤滑下における
摩耗防止性は、一般にジチオりん酸亜鉛(ZnDTP)
やジチオカルバミン酸亜鉛(ZnDTC)の添加によっ
て付与されている。ところで、内燃機関では、潤滑油が
関与する摩擦部分でのエネルギー損失が大きいために、
摩擦損失低減や燃費低減対策として、摩擦調整剤(F
M:フリクションモディファイヤ)を初め、各種の添加
剤を組み合わせた潤滑油が使用されている(例えば特公
平3−23595号公報)。自動車の内燃機関用潤滑油
は、各種の油温度、回転数、負荷で運転されており、し
たがって、さらに燃費を向上させるためには、広範囲の
使用条件下での摩擦特性に優れる必要がある。さらに、
内燃機関用潤滑油に要求される性能としては、前記した
もの以外に、高耐熱性、高酸化安定性、適度な粘度特性
などが挙げられる。
事情のもとで、優れた低摩擦性を有するとともに、高耐
熱性、高酸化安定性及び適度の粘度特性を有し、特に内
燃機関用潤滑油として好適な潤滑油組成物を提供するこ
とを目的としてなされたものである。
ましい特性を有する潤滑油組成物を開発すべく鋭意研究
を重ねた結果、芳香族成分の含有量が少ない特定の性状
の潤滑油基油に対し、特定のアミン系酸化防止剤と、硫
化オキシモリブデンジチオカルバメート(MoDTC)
や硫化オキシモリブデンオルガノホスホロジチオエート
(MoDTP)とを、所定の割合で含有させた組成物に
より、その目的を達成しうることを見い出し、この知見
に基づいて本発明を完成するに至った。すなわち、本発
明は、(A)芳香族成分が3.0重量%以下、硫黄分が
50重量ppm以下、窒素分が50重量ppm以下であり、か
つ温度100℃における粘度が2.0〜50.0mm2/s
である潤滑油基油に対して、組成物全重量に基づき
(B)一般式
水素原子又は炭素数が3〜18のアルキル基であり、そ
れらはたがいに同一であっても異なっていてもよいが、
その中の少なくとも1つはアルキル基である)で表され
るアルキルジフェニルアミン類、及び一般式
のアルキル基である)で表されるフェニル−α−ナフチ
ルアミン類の中から選ばれた少なくとも1種0.05〜
2.0重量%を含有させるとともに、(C)一般式
23の炭化水素基であり、それらはたがいに同一であっ
ても異なっていてもよく、m及びnはそれぞれそれらの
和が4となるような正の整数である)で表される硫化オ
キシモリブデンジチオカルバメート、及び一般式
18の炭化水素基であり、それらはたがいに同一であっ
ても異なっていてもよく、x及びyはそれぞれそれらの
和が4となるような正の整数である)で表される硫化オ
キシモリブデンオルガノホスホロジチオエートの中から
選ばれた少なくとも1種をモリブデン量として50〜2
000重量ppm含有させたことを特徴とする潤滑油組成
物に関するものである。
潤滑油組成物においては、(A)成分の潤滑油基油とし
て、芳香族成分が3.0重量%以下、硫黄分が50重量p
pm以下、窒素分が50重量ppm以下であり、かつ温度1
00℃における粘度が2.0〜50.0mm2/sの範囲に
あるものが用いられる。該芳香族成分の含有量が3.0
重量%を超えると得られる潤滑油組成物の耐熱性、酸化
安定性、摩擦特性が低下する。また、粘度が2.0mm2/
s未満のものでは油膜形成が十分ではなく、さらに蒸発
減量が多いという不都合があるし、50.0mm2/sを超
えると粘性抵抗による動力損失が大きすぎるので好まし
くない。さらに硫黄分や窒素分が50重量ppmを超える
と酸化安定性及び摩擦特性が低下する。該潤滑油基油
は、前記の性状を有するものであれば、鉱油や合成油を
問わず様々なものを使用することができるが、特に水素
化分解油及びワックス異性化油が好適である。本発明組
成物においては、(B)成分のアミン系酸化防止剤とし
て、一般式
及び一般式
類の中から選ばれた少なくとも1種が用いられる。前記
一般式[1]において、R1、R2、R3及びR4はそれぞ
れ水素原子又は炭素数が3〜18のアルキル基である。
また、R1、R2、R3及びR4はたがいに同一であっても
よいし、異なっていてもよいが、その中の少なくとも1
つは炭素数3〜18のアルキル基であることが必要であ
る。該炭素数3〜18のアルキル基は直鎖状、分枝鎖
状、環状のいずれであってもよく、このようなものとし
ては、例えば各種プロピル基、各種ブチル基、各種アミ
ル基、各種ヘキシル基、各種ヘプチル基、各種オクチル
基、各種ノニル基、各種デシル基、各種ウンデシル基、
各種ドデシル基、各種トリデシル基、各種テトラデシル
基、各種ペンタデシル基、各種ヘキサデシル基、各種ヘ
プタデシル基、各種オクタデシル基、さらにはシクロヘ
キシル基、シクロオクチル基、シクロドデシル基などが
挙げられる。また、前記一般式[2]において、Rは水
素原子又は炭素数3〜18のアルキル基である。該炭素
数3〜18のアルキル基は直鎖状、分枝鎖状、環状のい
ずれであってもよく、このようなものとしては、例えば
前記一般式[1]におけるR1〜R4の説明において例示
したものと同じものを挙げることができる。本発明組成
物においては、該(B)成分のアミン系酸化防止剤とし
て、前記一般式[1]で表されるアルキルジフェニルア
ミン類を1種用いてもよいし、2種以上を組み合わせて
用いてもよく、また、前記一般式[2]で表されるフェ
ニル−α−ナフチルアミン類を1種用いてもよいし、2
種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。さらには、該一般
式[1]で表されるアルキルジフェニルアミン類1種以
上と一般式[2]で表されるフェニル−α−ナフチルア
ミン類1種以上とを組み合わせて用いてもよい。本発明
においては、前記(B)成分のアミン系酸化防止剤は、
組成物全重量に基づき0.05〜2.0重量%、好ましく
は0.2〜1.2重量%の範囲で配合することが必要であ
る。この量が0.05重量%未満では十分な酸化安定性
が得られないし、2.0重量%を超えるとその量の割に
は効果の向上がみられない。本発明組成物においては、
(C)成分の摩擦調整剤として、一般式
ルバメート(MoDTC)、及び一般式
ホスホロジチオエート(MoDTP)の中から選ばれた
少なくとも1種が用いられる。前記一般式[3]におい
て、R5及びR6はそれぞれ炭素数8〜23の炭化水素基
であり、それらはたがいに同一であってもよいし、異な
っていてもよい。該炭素数8〜23の炭化水素基として
は、炭素数8〜23の直鎖状若しくは分枝鎖状のアルキ
ル基又はアルケニル基、炭素数8〜23のシクロアルキ
ル基、アリール基、アルキルアリール基又はアリールア
ルキル基などが挙げられる。このようなものの具体例と
しては2−エチルヘキシル基、n−オクチル基、ノニル
基、デシル基、ラウリル基、トリデシル基、パルミチル
基、ステアリル基、オレイル基、エイコシル基、ブチル
フェニル基、ノニルフェニル基などが挙げられる。ま
た、m及びnは、それぞれそれらの和が4となるような
正の整数である。一方、前記一般式[4]において、R
7及びR8はそれぞれ炭素数3〜18の炭化水素基であ
り、それらはたがいに同一であってもよいし、異なって
いてもよい。該炭素数3〜18の炭化水素基としては、
炭素数3〜18の直鎖状若しくは分枝鎖状のアルキル基
又はアルケニル基、炭素数6〜18のシクロアルキル
基、炭素数6〜18のアリール基、炭素数7〜18のア
ルキルアリール基又はアリールアルキル基などが挙げら
れる。このようなものの具体例としてはイソプロピル
基、n−プロピル基、n−ブチル基、イソブチル基、s
ec−ブチル基、アミル基、ヘキシル基、シクロヘキシ
ル基、2−エチルヘキシル基、n−オクチル基、ノニル
基、デシル基、ラウリル基、トリデシル基、パルミチル
基、ステアリル基、オレイル基、ブチルフェニル基、ノ
ニルフェニル基などが挙げられる。また、x及びyはそ
れぞれそれらの和が4となるような正の整数である。本
発明組成物においては、前記一般式[3]で表されるM
oDTCは1種用いてもよいし、2種以上を組み合わせ
てもよく、また前記一般式[4]で表されるMoDTP
は1種用いてもよいし、2種以上を組み合わせて用いて
もよい。
摩擦調整剤は、組成物全重量に基づきモリブテン量とし
て50〜2000重量ppm、好ましくは100〜100
0重量ppmの範囲で配合することが必要である。モリブ
デン量が50重量ppm未満では十分な低摩擦性が得られ
ないし、2000重量ppmを超えるとその量の割には摩
擦特性の向上効果がみられない。本発明の潤滑油組成物
には、本発明の目的が損なわれない範囲で、従来潤滑油
に慣用されている各種添加剤、例えば金属清浄剤、無灰
清浄分散剤、摩耗防止剤、粘度指数向上剤、流動点降下
剤、防錆剤、腐食防止剤、消泡剤、他の酸化防止剤など
を適宜添加することができる。金属清浄剤としては、例
えばカルシウムスルホネート、マグネシウムスルホネー
ト、バリウムスルホネート、カルシウムフェネート、バ
リウムフェネートなどが挙げられ、これらは、通常0.
1〜5重量%の割合で使用される。無灰清浄分散剤とし
ては、例えばこはく酸イミド系、こはく酸アミド系、ベ
ンジルアミン系やそのホウ素誘導体、エステル系のもの
などが挙げられ、これらは、通常0.5〜7重量%の割
合で使用される。摩耗防止剤としては、例えばチオりん
酸金属塩(Zn、Pb、Sb、Moなど)、チオカルバ
ミン酸金属塩(Znなど)、硫黄化合物、りん酸エステ
ル、亜りん酸エステルなどを挙げることができ、これら
は、通常0.05〜5.0重量%の割合で使用される。粘
度指数向上剤としては、例えばポリメタクリレート系、
ポリイソブチレン系、エチレン−プロピレン共重合体
系、スチレン−ブタジエン水添共重合体系などが挙げら
れ、これらは、通常0.5〜35重量%の割合で使用さ
れる。防錆剤としては、例えばアルケニルこはく酸やそ
の部分エステルなどが、腐食防止剤としては、例えばベ
ンゾトリアゾールやベンゾイミダゾールなどが、消泡剤
としては、例えばジメチルポリシロキサンやポリアクリ
レートなどが挙げられ、これらは適宜添加することがで
きる。
するが、本発明はこれらの例によってなんら限定される
ものではない。なお、潤滑油組成物の酸化誘導時間、摩
擦係数は次のようにして求めた。 (1)酸化誘導時間(分) 示差熱分析法により、酸素雰囲気下、20kgf/cm2、2
00℃の等温保持条件で求めた。 (2)摩擦係数(μ) 図1に示すLFW−1試験機により、回転数270rp
m、荷重30kgf、油温120℃、時間10分の条件で、
Falex社製R型ブロック(鉄製)及びFalex社
製S−10テストリング(鉄製)を用いて、LFW−1
摩擦試験を行った。図1中、1はS−10テストリング
であり、2はR型ブロックであり、3は歪み計である。
R型ブロックに荷重をかけ、リングを回転するときに生
じる抵抗を歪み計で検出し、摩擦係数を算出する。な
お、試験油はリングの半分程度まで浸っている。 実施例1〜7、比較例1〜6 第1表に示す性状の基油を用い、第2表に示す組成の潤
滑油組成物を調製し、酸化誘導時間(分)及び摩擦係数
(μ)を求めた。その結果を第2表に示す。
酸化安定性及び低摩擦性を有し、内燃機関、自動変速
機、緩衝器、パワーステアリングなどの潤滑油、特に内
燃機関用潤滑油として好適に用いられる。

Claims (1)
- 【請求項1】(A)芳香族成分が3.0重量%以下、硫
黄分が50重量ppm以下、窒素分が50重量ppm以下であ
り、かつ温度100℃における粘度が2.0〜50.0mm
2/sである潤滑油基油に対して、組成物全重量に基づ
き(B)一般式 【化1】 (式中のR1、R2、R3及びR4はそれぞれ水素原子又は
炭素数が3〜18のアルキル基であり、それらはたがい
に同一であっても異なっていてもよいが、その中の少な
くとも1つはアルキル基である)で表されるアルキルジ
フェニルアミン類、及び一般式 【化2】 (式中のRは水素原子又は炭素数3〜18のアルキル基
である)で表されるフェニル−α−ナフチルアミン類の
中から選ばれた少なくとも1種0.05〜2.0重量%を
含有させるとともに、(C)一般式 【化3】 (式中のR5及びR6はそれぞれ炭素数8〜23の炭化水
素基であり、それらはたがいに同一であっても異なって
いてもよく、m及びnはそれぞれそれらの和が4となる
ような正の整数である)で表される硫化オキシモリブデ
ンジチオカルバメート、及び一般式 【化4】 (式中のR7及びR8はそれぞれ炭素数3〜18の炭化水
素基であり、それらはたがいに同一であっても異なって
いてもよく、x及びyはそれぞれそれらの和が4となる
ような正の整数である)で表される硫化オキシモリブデ
ンオルガノホスホロジチオエートの中から選ばれた少な
くとも1種をモリブデン量として50〜2000重量pp
m含有させたことを特徴とする潤滑油組成物。
