Claims (42)

- 3.装置が、さらに、該基材の該領域上に配置された該検出領域を光学的に観察 するためのウインドーを包含する請求項1記載の装置。
- 4.該基材が、さらに、該分析物と結合して、該分析物の存在を示す検出可能な シグナルを発する標識化物質を該検出領域にデリバリーするための手段を形成す る請求項1記載の装置。

- 32.工程(i)にて供される装置において、該分析物検出領域が、その表面に 分析物結合部位を有する粒子からなり、それが、分析物の存在にて、粒子凝塊を 誘発する方法であって;ここに、 工程(ii)にて、該分析物が該粒子に結合して、凝塊形成を誘発し;かつ工程 (iii)にて、凝塊形成を検出する請求項27記載の方法。
- 33.工程(i)にて供される該基材が、さらに、該対照領域を光学的にプロー ブし、それにより、該対照領域および検出領域において光学的に測定されるデー タを比較できるための、該基材上の該対照領域上方に設けられた、試料流入ポー トおよび対照領域ウインドーと流体連絡した当該対照領域を形成する方法であっ て、 工程(iii)が該対照領域と該検出領域を光学的に観察し、比較する工程を包 含する請求項29記載の方法。
- 34.該分析物が該試料中の細胞集団である方法であって、工程(ii)にて、 該結合部が該細胞集団のメンバー上の表面蛋白質に結合して該細胞集団の凝集を 誘発し; 工程(iii)にて、該凝集を該ウインドーを介して光学的に検出する請求項2 9記載の方法。
- 35.工程(i)にて供される該基材が少なくとも第2の該メソスケール流動シ ステムを形成する方法であって、 工程(iii)にて、第1の、および少なくとも第2のシステム中の検出領域に おける結合を検出する請求項27記載の方法。
- 36.分析物が含細胞液体生物学的試料中の細胞内分子成分である方法であって 、該基材内で細胞を溶解する付加工程からなり、工程(iii)の前に該細胞内 分析物を放出させる請求項27記載の方法。
- 37.該分析物が該試料中の細胞集団である方法であって、工程(iii)の前 に該基材内で他の細胞から該細胞集団を分離する付加工程からなる請求項27記 載の方法。
- 38.少なくとも1つの流入ポートおよび該基材上の流入ポートから伸びるメソ スケール流動システムを形成するように微細加工された固体基材を包含する分析 装置と一緒に用いるための器具であって、該器具が;該基材を保持するための手 段; 該基材上の流入ポートと相互適合する流体投入手段;および該保持手段に保持さ れている場合、流体を該基材の流動システムを通過させるためのポンプ手段 からなることを特徴とする器具。
- 39.さらに、試薬溜めと、試薬を該流動システムにデリバリーするための手段 とからなる請求項38記載の器具。
- 40.さらに、該流動システム中の流体試料のパラメーターを検出するための検 出手段からなる請求項39記載の器具。
- 41.該分析物検出領域が曲がりくねったメソスケール流動チャネルからなり、 該曲がりくねったチャネルが、該チャネルを流れる流体の混合および反応の時間 を設定するような長さに微細加工されている請求項1記載の装置。
- 42.該分析物検出領域が、さらに、該検出領域より上流の、曲がりくねったメ ソスケール流動チャネルからなる方法であって、該曲がりくねったチャネルが、 該検出領域にデリバリーされる前に該チャネルを介して流れる流体の混合および 反応時間を設定するような長さに微細加工されており、かつ 工程(ii)が該試料を該曲がりくねったチャネルに、ついで該検出領域へとデ リバリーする工程を包含する請求項27記載の方法。
