Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a pin hole-free uniform fluorescent film by the procedure in which a suspension containing a fluorescent substance is circulated through a mesh to introduce it onto a float provided on the whole surface of the liquid in a liquid supply tank and then it is coated on a base material.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous fluorescent substance suspension containing carboxymethylcelluose as a tackifier, supplied from the liquid supply valve 8 to the inner tank 6 of the liquid supply tank A, is stirred all the time in order to prevent precipitation. Then, the suspension is supplied from the opening and closing ball 9 to the subtank 10 and then coated on the inside surface of the glass tube 12 through the nozzle 11. The excess suspension coming down is then introduced from the recovery tank 13 onto the wooden float 15 provided on the whole surface of the liquid in the tank 6 through the mesh 17 of a 100 mesh size by means of the circulating pump 14. Thus, the introduction of bubbles produced in the circulating system into the tank 6 can be prevented also wit the aid of bubbles floating on the float 15, thus permitting pin hole-free uniform fluorescent film on the inside surface of the tube 12 to be coated.
