Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the measured output of a surface potentiometer by applying a voltage divided by resistors from a bias voltage to a measured voltage of regenerative direct current.
CONSTITUTION: An AC amplifier 204, a DC regenerative circuit 205, a sample- holding circuit 206 and a development bias control circuit 207 are connected to a surface potentiometer 50 for detecting the surface potential of a photosensitive drum 11, and a CPU 201 and a DC regenerative circuit 205 are connected to the control circuit 207. Since the AC signal detected by the meter 50 is converted to regenerative direct current and to be stored after it is amplified and the voltage divided by resistors from the bias voltage from the control circuit 207 is applied to the regenerative circuit 205, it can cancel the variation of the regenerative direct current output upon variation of the bias voltage to thereby provide stabilized measured output.
