NEW MATERIAL:Benzamide derivatives of formula I (R, R', are lower alkyls).
EXAMPLE: 2-Methoxy-5-[(N'-ethylpyrrolidinylidene) sulfamoyl]-N-[N"-ethylpyrrolidinylidene)methyl]-benzamide.
USE: They have spasmolytic and analgesic activities and the use as a agent for analgesic and spasmolytic effect is expected. Further some of them are used as an intermediate of sulpiride that is used as remedy for ulcer.
PREPARATION: 2-N-Ethlpyrrolidinylidene- [2'-methoxy-5'- (N'-ethlpyrrolidinylidene) sulfamoyl] hippuric ethyl of formula II is heated in water or an alcohol with aqueous mineral acid under reflux to give the objective compound of formula I. The concentration of the aqueous mineral acid is preferably 8W3 normal from the view point of operation.
