Abstract

PURPOSE: An artificial tooth having a much higher impact strength than the conventional porcelain tooth, the color tone and transparency equal to those of the porcelain tooth, the color tone and transparency equal to those of the porcelain tooth, and comprising aluminosilicate glass.
CONSTITUTION: An artificial tooth prepared by calcining molded aluminosilicate glass powder (A). The composition of (A) is preferably 55W61wt% SiO2, 0W 6wt% B2O3, 12W18wt%Al2O3, 0W2wt% Li2O, 0W2wt% Na2O, 0W2wt% K2O, 6W13wt% MgO, 4W10wt% ZnO, 0W3wt% BaO, 0W3wt% CaO, 0.2W5wt% TiO2, 0.1W3wt% CeO2, 0W0.2wt% Fe2O3 and 0W2wt% F. The tooth obtained is characterized by improved thus chemical durability and spalling strength on rapid heating and cooling, and no chipping.
