Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform stabilized operation of an engine by operating a cooling fan and controlling the heat radiation of a ceramic on the basis of inner wall temperature of cylinder and rotational speed of engine in an automobile engine whose inner wall surface of cylinder is formed with ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 2 is arranged on the inner wall surface of cylinder 1 formed with ceramic material, and a cooling fan 4 is put in operation by the output from a controller 3. Further, rotational speed of engine is detected by a crank angle sensor 32 and pick up 33 arranged on the crank shaft, and the cooling fan 4 is operated by the controller 4. Thus, not only combustion chamber 8 may be kept in a high temperature by employing ceramic material with a small heat conductivity and superior heat resistance, but also a broad range of stabilied engine operation can be achieved.
