Abstract

PURPOSE: A resin composition improved in the crystallization rate of polyethylene terephthalate, which is prepd. by compounding the polyethylene terephthalate with a specified polyamide to have a specified half-width of a heat generation pead.
CONSTITUTION: A resin composition comprising polyethylene terephthalate (A) and an aromatic polyamide (B) constituted of an aminocarboxylic acid residue of the formula-NH-Ar-CO-(wherein Ar is a divalent arom. group) and pref. having softening pt.>270°C, which is prepd. by compounding component A with B to have a half-width of a heat generation peak due to the gradual crystallization of the ethylene terephthalate ≤15°C at a cooling rate of 10°C/min on differential scanning calorimetry. When said component B is used in the form of a fiber, it is particularly advantageous to use a fiber 50μm or less each in length, diameter and thickness.
