Abstract

The subject of the application are limited solid phase doped rare earth ions, which are characterized in that the rare earth metal is terb (III) and the phases are described by the general formula Pb1-3x xTb2xWO4, where 0 <x? 0.1000, and means vacancies in the crystal lattice. The application also includes a method of producing new phases of a limited solid solution doped with terbium (III) ions, consisting of mixing, homogenizing, annealing and cooling, characterized in that the amount of lead (II) tungstate in quantity 87.7% or more molar and less than 100.00 mol% is mixed with terbium (III) tungstate in an amount greater than 0.00 mol% and less than or equal to 12.50 mol%. The mixtures are calcined at 900 to 1020 ° C, then cooled to give the product of general formula Pb1-3x xTb2xWO4, where 0 <x? 0.1000, and means vacancies in the crystal lattice. Preferably, mixtures of lead (II) tungstate with terb (III) tungstate are calcined in six stages, 12 hours each, the samples being slowly cooled to ambient temperature and ground after each heating step.
