Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA PREPARAçãO DE CITALOPRAM PURO". A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para a preparação e purificação de citalopram (I) no qual um composto de Fórmula (II) onde Z é iodo, bromo, cloro OU CF~ 3~-(CF~ 2~)~ n~-SO~ 2~-O-, n sendo 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ou 8, é submetido a uma reação de troca de cianeto com uma fonte de cianeto; o produto de citalopram bruto resultante é opcionalmente submetido a alguma purificação inicial e é subseq³entemente tratado com uma amida ou um agente formador de grupo similar a amida; a mistura da reação é então submetida a uma lavagem de ácido/base e/ou cristalização e recristalização de citalopram, a fim de remover as amidas formadas a partir da mistura de citalopram bruto; e o produto de citalopram resultante é opcionalmente mais purificado, elaborado e isolado como a base ou como um sal do mesmo aceitável na farmacologia.
