Definitions
- the invention relates to a sash frame of a window, a door or the like, in particular a roof window, with a hollow plastic profile in which at least one thermally conductive insert is arranged and which has a receiving zone for the glass edge area of a window pane and an interior sash area.
- Sash frames of the type mentioned are known. From the Austrian patent specification 220 795 a window frame emerges which has a hollow plastic profile. In order to prevent bulging or warping of the plastic hollow profile in the case of different heat radiation, for example in strong one-sided solar radiation, the window frame is provided with an insert consisting of heat-conducting material, which is located near the outer surface and produces an even heat distribution. This heat distribution avoids that thermal expansion occurs only in certain areas, but rather all parts of the window frame expand or contract when exposed to cold, so that material warpage is avoided.
- the subject of the invention deals with a completely different problem.
- the invention has for its object to largely avoid moisture precipitation on the inside, that is, the side of the sash or its window pane facing the space of a building or the like.
- windows and doors especially in the case of roof windows, there is a risk in conventional designs that the moisture present in the room air condenses on cooler areas of the window or the like as condensation water.
- the condensation is often so great under appropriate conditions that the water drips down to the floor of the room, so that not only is the view through the window pane hindered, but also consequential damage can occur.
- the above-mentioned disadvantages are avoided by means of the measures according to the invention.
- the invention provides that the insert forms a thermal bridge which leads from the wing area to the receiving zone and conducts the room heat absorbed by the wing area to the glass edge area.
- the room heat is supplied to a defined extent along a specifically defined, spatially limited heat conduction path, a defined location, namely the receiving zone for the edge region of the window pane. This procedure does not correspond to the uniform heat distribution known from the prior art and therefore does not lead to a deterioration or only a very insignificant influence on the thermal insulation (k value) of the window.
- the measures according to the invention ensure that the isothermal profiles, that is to say the curves of the same temperature, do not essentially leave the hollow plastic profile on the inside of the room and - passing through the room - enter the window pane in an area distant from the glass edge. Rather, such isotherms (which are relevant here for the formation of condensation water) run through the casement profile and pass into the window pane, for example in the area of the receiving zone in the glass edge area. This means that no dew point temperatures occur even in the edge region of the window pane, so that there is no or insignificant amount of moisture precipitation due to the condensation of moisture in the room air and the disadvantages mentioned above are therefore avoided.
- the defined thermal bridge according to the invention ensures that due to the higher room temperature compared to the outside air, heat is absorbed to a defined extent from the wing area of the hollow plastic profile and is guided into the area of the glass edge of the window pane, so that heating occurs to a predetermined extent that prevents moisture condensation.
- This heat conduction is locally limited — also within the hollow plastic profile — so that the k value of the window remains essentially unaffected, so that no appreciable heat losses occur.
- the insert is a metal insert. This ensures good thermal conductivity.
- the insert is preferably designed as a metal profile, that is to say, viewed in cross section, it has a profile contour.
- the hollow plastic profile viewed in cross section, has a plurality of chambers.
- the insert is preferably arranged in one of the chambers, in particular in an (extra) receiving chamber on the interior side.
- the defined heat conduction then takes place only within this chamber, the other chambers being able to take on other tasks, in particular serving for heat insulation, so that the heat conduction according to the invention remains limited in a narrow space.
- the receiving chamber adjoins at least one chamber facing away from the interior, which forms a heat shielding chamber.
- the insert lies against the inside of the interior wall of the hollow plastic profile, at least in some areas.
- the insert also bears at least in regions on the inside of a wall of the hollow plastic profile assigned to the receiving zone, so that a corresponding heat transfer of the room heat to the thermal bridge and from there to the glass edge area is ensured. If the insert follows the contour of the plastic hollow profile at least in some areas, a correspondingly large-area contact is ensured, which improves the heat transfer properties.
- these heat transfer properties are of course not realized to such an extent that the thermal insulation of the window is greatly deteriorated, but only to such an extent that the effects of the invention are brought about.
- the insert can also act as a mechanical stiffening insert. In this respect, a double effect is achieved, namely the thermal bridge function and the mechanical stiffening.
- the insert rests with a prestress against the interior wall and / or the wall of the receiving zone. This ensures a gap-free system and thus good heat transfer properties.
- bracing elements in particular screws or the like, are preferably arranged, which also support the insert clamp the corresponding wall of the hollow plastic profile. These bracing elements improve the heat transfer, and they can also serve as thermal bridges, thus facilitating temperature exchange.
- a seal can preferably be arranged between the receiving zone and the glass edge region of the window pane. This is designed in particular as a flat seal in order not to hinder the heat transfer too much, but on the other hand to ensure the sealing effect of the pane against the hollow plastic profile.
- the bracing elements can be arranged at a uniform distance over the longitudinal extent of the profiles, so that these - as additional thermal conductors - transport the heat almost into the seal.
- FIG. 1 shows a cross section through the roof window 1, which has a pivoting sash 2 and a fixed frame 3. Both sash 2 and frame 3 are designed as a plastic hollow profile 4 or 5. The sash 2 is provided with a window 6, which is designed as double glazing.
- the hollow plastic profile 4 faces the room 7 of a building or the like, which has the roof window 1.
- the outer area of the building or the roof window 1 is identified by the reference number 8.
- the environmental conditions are there, while there are 7 room conditions in the room.
- the hollow plastic profile 4 has a wing area 9 which faces the space 7. Furthermore, the hollow plastic profile 4 is provided with a receiving zone 10 for the glass edge region 11 of the window pane 6.
- the interior of the hollow plastic profile 4 is divided into chambers by means of partition walls.
- the individual structure is as follows. A region 12 of the hollow plastic profile 4 which extends approximately at right angles to the plane of the window pane 6 merges via a step 13 into a region 14 which runs at an oblique angle thereto and which forms an obtuse angle with a further region 15.
- the plastic hollow profile 4 has a wall 16 provided with a plurality of webs, which leads to an extension arm 17 which extends over the window pane 6 (its thickness).
- the hollow plastic profile 4 On the side 18 of the arm 17 facing the window pane 6, the hollow plastic profile 4 has a wall 19, which extends approximately at right angles to the surface of the window pane 6 and which merges into the receiving zone 10 to form an angle of approximately 90 °.
- the areas 12, 14 and partly also 15 form the already mentioned wing area 9, which is exposed to the room conditions, that is, this wing area 9 is acted upon by the room temperature.
- an intermediate wall 20 runs in the interior of the hollow plastic profile 4. Parallel to this, a further intermediate wall 21 runs offset toward the frame 3-. An intermediate wall 22 then follows, again offset. Furthermore, there are 20 transverse to the intermediate walls 20 , 21 and 22 extending transverse walls 23 and 24 are provided.
- the hollow plastic profile 4 also has further intermediate or transverse walls, which, however, are not to be described in detail here, since they are of less importance for the illustration of the invention. Overall, however, it should be noted that chambers are formed due to the different walls, which contribute to the stiffening of the hollow plastic profile and also form heat insulation zones.
- a chamber 25 is formed in the hollow profile, which forms a receiving chamber 26 for an insert 27, which is designed as a thermal bridge 28.
- the thermal bridge 28 consists of a metal profile which is largely adapted to the contouring of the hollow plastic profile 4 in the areas 12, 14 and 15 and the receiving zone 10 is. This will be discussed in more detail below.
- a Z-shaped step 29 is formed on the hollow plastic profile 4, that is to say the wall 30, which runs approximately parallel to the plane of the window pane 6, merges into a wall 31 running vertically downwards, which in turn is approximately on the right Angle continues in a wall 32 which is adjacent to the wall 19.
- a web 33 extends parallel to the wall 31 at a distance therefrom and has a nose formation at the end. This nose formation is also provided in the wall 31, so that a receiving channel 34 for a seal 35 is formed between the wall 31 and the web 33.
- the seal 35 is designed as a flat seal and is located between the window pane 6 and the hollow plastic profile 4 in the region of the receiving zone 10.
- the insert 27, which is designed as a metal profile, has a leg 36 which runs parallel to the region 15 of the hollow plastic profile 4 and preferably rests on the inside thereof.
- the leg 36 merges into a section 37 which runs parallel to the area 14 and preferably abuts the inside of the wall of the hollow plastic profile 4.
- the section 37 merges into a cranked area 38 which follows the step 13.
- This area 38 is adjoined by a section 41 which runs parallel to the area 12 and preferably abuts the inside thereof.
- bracing elements 43 are arranged in the receiving channel, which brace the wall 32 with the section 42.
- the bracing elements 43 are preferably designed as self-tapping screws 44, the heads of which are located in the receiving channel 34 below the seal 35.
- the self-tapping screws 44 are in particular screwed into pre-drilled and countersunk holes, so that during the screwing-in process no chip is formed which enters between the wall 32 and the section 42 and in this way leads to a gap formation which affects the heat transfer. It is also possible to use a screw with a special screw head, in which the screw head is hollow at the root of the shaft, so that any chip that may form can enter this cavity and thus always ensure that the screw head lies snugly on the wall 32.
- a chamber 45 is formed, which forms a heat insulation chamber.
- a chamber 46 within which a mechanical stiffening profile 47 is arranged.
- a mechanical stiffening profile 47 is arranged above the transverse wall 24 and above the chambers 45 and 46.
- the sash frame 2 of the roof window 1 acts as follows:
- the higher temperature prevailing in the room 7 compared to the outside area 8 leads to the sash area 9 absorbing room heat, which is transported by the heat-conducting insert 27 into the receiving zone 10.
- the heat is given off to the glass edge area 11 of the window pane 6.
- the room 7 is thermally insulated from the outside area 8.
- FIG. 2 illustrates the above.
- Sash frame 2 and frame 3 are different from the exemplary embodiment of FIG. 1, but act in the same way since the inside wing area 9 is also assigned a thermally conductive insert 27 that heat a receiving zone 10 in the glass edge area 11 of a window pane 6 feeds.
- Isotherms 50 are entered, which are labeled with the respective temperatures, namely 0 ° C., 2 ° C., 4 ° C., 6 ° C., 8 ° C., 10 ° C., 12 ° C. It can be seen that the isotherms in the transition area from the sash 2 to the window pane 6 such run that even the 12 ° C isotherm remains within the hollow plastic profile 4, does not therefore exit on the room side and then - bridging the room air - re-enters the window pane 6.
- the course of the isotherms brought about by the measures according to the invention means that no condensation of moisture present in the room air occurs on the inside of the window pane 6 or on the visible surfaces of the hollow plastic profile 4.
- the invention prevents, as in the known skylight constructions, condensation water forming in the edge region of the insulating glazing, since heat is specifically brought to the glass edge region. This takes place via the thermal bridge according to the invention, which also brings about a wing stiffening and can take out the room heat to the desired extent and bring it to the edge region of the window pane.
