Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a particle board whose surface is smooth and which excels in secondary working properties, by adding a bonding agent and a water-containing porous substance to lumber chips, laminating the mixture as a mat so that the lumber chips are loacted on the obverse side of the mat and by hotpressing the mat.
CONSTITUTION: 1W50% by weight of a water-containing porous substance such as a foamed resin or foamed phenol resin is added to lumber chips dried to a water content of 4% or less. The mixture is coated with a bonding agent of a urea resin, phenol resin or the like. The coated mixture is laminated as a mat so that the lumber chips are located on the obverse side of the mat. The laminated mixture is inserted into a hotpress so that the mixture is heated and pressed at a temperature of 150W 190°C under pressure of 20W30kg/cm2.
