본 고안은 복사기의 정착기에 관한 것으로서 특히, 열·압력정착 방식을 개조한 복사기의 정착장치에 관한 것이다.
종래의 정착방법은 대체적으로 압력정착방식, 열정착방식 그리고 열·압력정착방식등 세가지 방법이 주류를 이루며 널리 이용되어 왔으나 그중에서도 열·압력정착방식이 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 실정으로서 이는, 약 60초의 예열시간을 필요로 한다는 점을 단점으로 지적할 수 있는바, 제4도에서 도시한 것과 같이 건사를 완료하여 종이위에 토너를 갖고 있는 상태에서 종이는 정착기의 테프론 롤러(1)와 프레스롤러(2)사이로 지나가면서 토너는 열에 의해 녹고 이와동시에 종이에 스며들게되는 정착과정을 거치게 된다. 따라서, 히터램프(3)에 의해 테프론롤러(1)가 일정온도에 도달될때까지 사용자는 필연적으로 기다려야만 하는 대기시간을 필요로 한다.
이와같이 종래의 테프론롤러(1)는 알루미늄 재질의 원통형으로 내부에 히터램프(3)가 구성된 것으로서 열전달시간이 지연되고 항상 일정온도로 상승된 상태를 유지하여야 함으로 인해 전력소모가 많을 뿐만아니라 불필요한 열을 발생시켜 기기내부의 부품 및 토너에 열을 이전하여 복사기의 성능을 저하시키는 등의 문제점이 있었다.
따라서 본 고안은 이와같은 문제점을 시정보완하기 위하여 일반적인 복사기의 프로세스(Process)중 정착부를 개조한 것으로서 프레스로울러와 백업로울러가 양쪽에서 스프링에 의해 일정압력을 유지하고 있는 구조로 되어있고 이 사이를 알루미늄판에 테프론을 코팅처리한 엔드리스벨트(Endless Belt)가 통과하는 구조로 되어 있다.
이를 첨부된 도면에 의거하여 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다. 두께가 극히 얇은 알루미늄판(4)에 합성수지계열인 테프론(5)을 코팅한 엔드리스 벨트(1)에는 히팅엘리먼트(10)가 구성되고 이는 프레스롤러(3)와 벨트로울러(8)에 감겨 있으며 백업로울러(2)에는 스프링(9)을 결착하여 구성하여서 된 것이다.
미설명부호 6은 토너(Toner)이고 7은 페이퍼이며 11은 크리닝유니트(Cleaning Unit), 12는 전자유니트이다.
이와같이 구성된 본 고안의 작용 및 효과를 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
엔드리스벨트(1)를 구성하고 있는 알루미늄판(4)의 두께는 0.1㎜정도의 얇은 판으로서 온도상승 속도는 다류의 금속에 비해 상대적으로 매우 빠른 편이므로 급지부를 통과하여 복사기 내부프로세스를 거쳐나온 페이퍼(7)는 미정착된 토너(6)가루를 정전기력으로 페이퍼에 부착된 상태로 정착부에 공급되는바 이때 히팅엘리먼트(Heating Element=니코톱 vire) 가열을 발산하게 되어 발산된 열은 엔드리스벨트(1)로 이전하여 프레스롤러(3)와 백업로울러(2)사이의 압력과 벨트가 지닌열로 인해 종이위의 토너(6)가루를 융착해서 정착과정을 종료하게 된다.
또한, 알루미늄판(4)상의 엷은 테프론(5)코팅을 한 구조는 토너의 이형성을 향상시켜 토너가 벨트로 전달되어 나타나는 옵셋현상을 방지할 수 있으며, 정착지역부근에 이르른 종이는 알루미늄판이 지닌 자체의 열을 페이퍼에 전달하여 토너(6)를 용융시키며 백업로울러에 압력을 가압하면 토너는 종이에 흡수되어 정착을 완료하게 된다.
상술한 바와같은 각부품의 기능과 역할을 열거하면 알루미늄판은 열을 페이퍼에 전달하는 매체역할을 수행하고 프레스롤러는 백업로울러(Back-up Roller)와 상호 압력을 가할수 있도록한 스틸로울러이며, 히팅엘리먼트는 알루미늄판에 열을 가하는 니크롬와이어로서 이밖에 벨트로울러의 기능을 살펴보면 프레스로울러와 동일하게 회전하면서 엔드리스벨트를 고정하고 지지하는 스틸롤러이다.
이와같이 본 고안은 4-6회전의 회전수를 나타내는 저속복사기나 소형 페이지프린터(Page Printer)등에 적합한 구조이며 대기시간이 필요없는 구조이고 불필요한 전력낭비를 최소화할수 있도록 구성한 것으로서 종래의 열·압력정착방식의 장점을 최대한 수용하면서 고품위의 정착효과를 기대할 수 있는 것이다.

  1. 복사기의 정착부 프로세스에 있어서, 알루미늄판(4)과 테프론(5)으로 코팅처리한 엔드리스벨트(1)는 히팅엘리먼트(10)를 구성하여 프레스로울러(3)와 백업로울러(2)사이에 감기도록 정착하되, 별도의 벨트로울러(8)와 연결하여서 구성함을 특징으로 하는 복사기의 정착장치.
