Abstract

This utility model disclosed a plastic pipe coupling which comprises a stepped tubular body member and a coupling nut member. The stepped tubular body has its smaller and bigger end portions provided with external threads with the intermediate portion having holding ribs. The stepped tubular body member has wing-type locking member for the provision of lock sealing means. The stepped tubular body member has axial bores defining therein inner and outer shoulders. The coupling nut member is provided with internally threaded bore and conically shaped bore defining therein inner and outer shoulders. The coupling nut member has internal threads adapted to be screwed to the tubular body member. The coupling nut member has annular flange with annular protrusion adapted to engage with the wing-type locking member to define therebetween a space. A conical pipe grip insert is provided in the conical bore. The pipe grip insert has a cut-out portion to allow contraction when pressed along the conical bore and annular pipe gripping ribs at the inner surface thereof. The pipe grip insert has its inner end engaged with the outer shoulder of the coupling nut member. A sleeve pusher is provided in the internally threaded bore. The sleeve pusher has an O-ring attached on the inner end thereof which in turn is seated on the inner shoulder of the tubular body member.
