Abstract

A plastic pipe coupling comprises a bended tubular body member and a coupling nut member screwably connected thereto. Bended tubular body member has its smaller end portion provided with internal threads while its bigger end portion provided with external threads. Stepped axial bores defined by an outer bore, intermediate bore, and an inner bore are provided in tubular body member defining therein an inner and outer shoulders. Intermediate bore is adapted to fit therein the unthreaded plastic pipe to be coupled. A sleeve pusher with rubber O-ring seal is fitted in outer bore and in telescopic relation with plastic pipe. O-ring seal is adapted to engage with outer shoulder. Coupling nut member has a conical inner surface adapted to receive therein a conically shaped pipe grip insert having a cut-out portion with pipe gripping ribs at the inner surface thereof whereby plastic pipe with unthreaded end is firmly held at the end portion of tubular body member.
