Abstract

An improved plastic pipe coupling comprises a T-type fitting body member and coupling nut members. The improvement resides in the fitting body member having three identical and enlarge externally threaded end portions, each having stepped axial bores to define therein an outer bore, intermediate bore, and an inner bore with the intermediate bore adapted to snugly fit therein the unthreaded end of a plastic pipe to be coupled. A rubber O-ring gasket and a sleeve pusher is snugly fitted in the outer bore and in telescopic relation with the plastic pipe. Coupling nut member is adapted to be screwed to each three end portions of the fitting body member, each having a conical inner surface adapted to receive therein a conically shaped pipe insert having a cut-out portion and pipe gripping ribs at the inner surface thereof whereby plastic pipes with unthreaded ends are firmly and sealingly held at the end portions of the fitting body member.
